Lie detector test in Poland — polygraph examination in central Warsaw

Lie Detector Test in Poland

Poland is home to thousands of international employers. Service centres sit in Warsaw and Kraków, logistics hubs in the middle of the country. Many of their managers and staff do not speak Polish. So we give them an examination they can follow word for word. English-speaking families living here ask for the same. Tests take place at our Warsaw office or at your company. Accuracy is 95–98%, and the written report follows within 24 hours.

Why international clients in Poland choose us

Our Polish-language service has worked across the country for years. However, this page is for those who would rather do it in English.

🌐
One language per examinee

So in a mixed team, a Polish manager is tested in Polish. A British colleague, for example, is tested in English. Both sessions follow the same standard.

🚆
Easy to reach

The Warsaw office is three minutes on foot from the central railway station. The Centrum metro stop is just as close. So clients from other cities come and go by train in one day.

🏢
On-site for companies

When several employees need testing, the examiner comes to your premises. Then the list is worked through in a quiet room. Nobody has to leave the site.

📜
A report your HR team can use

Clear structure and plain English. Besides that, the questions are quoted exactly, with a result for each of them.

🛡️
RODO-compliant handling

Recordings are personal data under the GDPR, known in Poland as RODO. Therefore they are stored securely and shared only with the client. On request, we delete them.

🖥️
Online as a fallback

Sometimes a single examinee cannot travel. Then a supervised lie detector test online keeps the same protocol.

What happens during a lie detector test in Poland

The same four stages apply, whether one person is tested or twenty.

Polygraph test in Poland — examiner reviewing physiological charts

The instrument follows four signals at once. These are breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and sweating of the skin. A person can hold one of them steady for a while. However, not all four, and not question after question. What matters is the difference between two kinds of questions. Relevant ones concern the incident. Control questions, in turn, are mildly uncomfortable for everyone.

For employers this has a practical consequence. A well-designed test clears an innocent employee as reliably as it finds the responsible one. For many companies, therefore, that is the main reason to use it after a loss.

1
Briefing

You describe the incident or the concern. Then we agree who is tested, where, in which language and at what price.

2
Consent and questions

Each examinee signs written consent. After that, every question is read out with the examiner.

3
Examination

First the sensors are attached. Then the agreed questions are asked in several series, with short breaks.

4
Report

Finally, within 24 hours you get a signed report. It lists the method, the questions and the result for each examinee.

Our Warsaw office and coverage across Poland

Examinations in Warsaw are held at Złota 59 in Śródmieście. That is three minutes on foot from Warszawa Centralna. During a session the room is closed to other visitors. Also, nothing on the way in shows what kind of appointment you are attending.

Outside the capital, the examiner travels by arrangement. Usually this means Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź, Katowice, Lublin or Szczecin. Companies with several examinees often find a visit easier than sending staff to Warsaw.

Why clients in Poland contact us

Both business cases and private matters come up. Below are the most typical ones.

📦
Warehouse and transport losses

Missing pallets, fuel and parcels in distribution centres and trucking fleets. Usually dozens of people had access.

💾
Data and client leaks

Usually service centres and IT companies handle client data for other countries. So a single leak can cost a whole contract.

🧾
Procurement and kickbacks

Suspected side payments from suppliers, inflated invoices and purchasing decisions nobody can explain.

👥
Senior hires

A voluntary check of the CV and of undisclosed conflicts of interest. Usually before someone takes charge of money or people.

💕
Infidelity and trust

Couples with a foreign partner often prefer such a sensitive process in English.

🔑
Nannies, drivers and home staff

Also, families who moved to Poland can check nannies, drivers and home staff. That happens before anyone gets the keys.

A lie detector test in Poland costs from $280 per examinee. In practice, the price depends on the session length, the number of questions and the complexity. Besides that, travel outside Warsaw and group testing are quoted separately. For other languages, please check the terms with our coordinator. Besides that, a supervised online test starts at $205. Rates in other countries are on our international price list.

These figures are indicative. Finally, a coordinator confirms the price at booking or once the type of examination is agreed.

Anton Vertel — certified polygraph examiner, Executive Director of Global Experts Union
The examiner behind your report

In Poland, a team of certified examiners does this work. The team is led by Anton Vertel, Executive Director of Global Experts Union. Anton Vertel is a certified polygraph examiner and profiler-verifier. Besides polygraphy, the training behind that is practical psychology and philosophical anthropology.

Every chart is stored. So if a result is challenged, a second examiner can review it independently.

Our job is to find out what happened, not to confirm a suspicion. So where the data gives no clear answer, the report says exactly that.

Lie detector test in Poland: FAQ

Short answers to the questions we hear most from English-speaking clients.

Where can I take a lie detector test in Poland?

Usually at our office at Złota 59, 00-120 Warsaw, next to Warszawa Centralna station. Besides that, the examiner travels by arrangement. Usually this means Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź, Katowice or Lublin.

How much does a polygraph test cost in Poland?

From $280 per person. The final price depends on the session length and the number of questions. The complexity of the case also matters. For other languages, please check the terms with our coordinator. The online format costs from $205.

Can the test be conducted in English?

Yes. The whole examination can be in English, including the consent form and the report. Besides English, we test in Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. So within one company, each employee is examined in their own language.

Can an employer in Poland require a lie detector test?

No. The Polish Labour Code limits what personal data an employer may demand. So a test can only be offered. The employee then accepts it voluntarily, in writing. Refusing cannot be a reason for dismissal or any other penalty.

Do Polish courts accept the result?

Polish criminal procedure allows such an examination with the person's consent. A court may then consider the result as part of an expert opinion. It is weighed together with other evidence, but it is not proof on its own. In private and workplace matters, our report supports the decision.

How long does the examination take?

Usually one and a half to three hours per person. Usually that includes the interview and the discussion of questions. Finally, the written report follows within 24 hours.

How accurate is a lie detector test?

A professional examination reports 95–98% accuracy. That holds with a certified examiner and computerised equipment. However, if the reactions give no clear conclusion, the report records the result as inconclusive.

Can you test several employees in one day?

Yes. Each examination takes one and a half to three hours. So the examiner schedules several people back to back at your premises. Larger groups are split over several days.

Testing in Poland: a detailed guide

An international workforce in Poland needs an international examiner

Over the past two decades Poland has become a major European location for business services. Software development, manufacturing and warehousing followed. Offices in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław and the Tricity employ people from dozens of countries. In many of them, English is the working language. After a theft or a leak, such a company needs the right examiner. Everyone should be questioned in a language they fully understand. That is the gap this service fills.

How the recording works

The examinee sits in a comfortable chair. Two soft belts measure breathing. A cuff on the arm records blood pressure and pulse. Two small finger plates measure skin conductance. Then the computer draws these signals as parallel lines. An experienced examiner reads them the way a doctor reads a cardiogram. In practice, that means repeated changes tied to specific questions, not one dramatic movement.

Relevant and control questions

A typical test has a few relevant questions about the incident. Besides them, there are several control questions and a few neutral ones. Control questions, on the other hand, touch on minor misbehaviour most people prefer not to discuss. An innocent examinee usually reacts to them more strongly. A guilty examinee shows the opposite. This comparison is the core of the method. Therefore every question is agreed in advance. A surprise question produces a reaction to the surprise, not to the content.

What Polish law says about the polygraph

Poland is one of the few European countries whose criminal procedure mentions such an examination. For example, with the person's consent it may be carried out during an investigation. A court can then take the result into account as part of an expert opinion. However, it never replaces other evidence, and the judge assesses it freely. In civil disputes there is no special regulation. So the test is simply a voluntary procedure agreed between the parties.

Employers, the Polish Labour Code and consent

The Polish Labour Code sets out a closed list of data an employer may request. Test results are not on that list. In practice, an employer can propose a test and explain its purpose. However, it cannot make the test a condition of employment. Punishing someone who declines is not allowed either. Companies that handle this well present the test differently. For staff, it is a chance to clear their names.

RODO: how test data is protected in Poland

In Poland the GDPR is known as RODO. It applies alongside the Personal Data Protection Act of 2018. Besides that, an examination produces sensitive information about a person's body and conduct. Therefore the examinee is told what will be recorded and who will see it. The storage period is explained as well. We send the report only to the client who ordered the test. The charts are stored securely and deleted on request.

Logistics hubs in central Poland

Central Poland is full of large warehouses serving retailers across Europe. Most of them sit around Łódź and the motorway junctions near Warsaw. Shrinkage there is rarely one dramatic theft. Usually it is a slow leak of goods through the loading dock. Inventory checks often point to a particular shift or team. A series of examinations then shows where the losses occur. Operations continue, and nobody is treated as a suspect in public.

Service centres and IT companies in Poland

Business service centres in Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław process payroll and customer data. Financial records for companies all over the world go through them too. As a result, a leaked spreadsheet can breach contracts with foreign clients. We help such firms investigate specific incidents. Also, with the candidate's agreement, we check applicants for roles with privileged access.

Private matters for families living in Poland

Not every case comes from a company. Couples who moved to Poland for work sometimes face doubts about fidelity. Family is far away, so there is nobody nearby to talk to. Parents, in turn, want reassurance about a nanny or driver. Relatives argue about money left after a death. In these cases we keep the process calm. Every question is agreed in advance. The result goes only to the person who asked for it.

When we decline to test in Poland

A reliable result requires a person in a normal physical state. So we do not test anyone who has been drinking or taking drugs. Besides that, strong sedatives rule the test out. The same applies to acute illness, late pregnancy and serious heart disease. We also refuse questions the method cannot answer. Predictions about future behaviour are one example.

Attempts to cheat the test

Some examinees arrive with online tips on how to pass. Typical advice is controlled breathing, pressure on a toe or mental arithmetic. However, these tricks change the charts in a way a trained examiner recognises. A sensor in the seat also registers hidden movement. The report then describes the countermeasures. As a result, the person's position usually gets worse, not better.

How to prepare for a test in Poland

Sleep normally the night before and eat something light. Also skip alcohol for at least a day. Also limit coffee on the morning of the test. Continue any prescribed medication and tell the examiner about it. Being nervous is expected and does not spoil the result. The method compares reactions between questions instead of measuring general anxiety.

What a test in Poland costs

The base price of $280 covers the consultation and the pre-test interview. It also covers the examination, the analysis and a signed report. The amount grows with the number of questions and the number of people tested. Travel outside Warsaw adds to it as well. Sessions in other languages are agreed separately with the coordinator. Everything is settled before the appointment, so there are no later charges.

Remote testing across Poland

Sometimes the examinee is in a small town, abroad or unable to travel. Then a supervised online examination is available from $205. In practice, the examiner guides the setup over a secure video connection. The question protocol stays the same, and the conditions are watched throughout. For all our services and countries, see the Global Experts Union home page.
